Two Lebanese arrested for attempting to smuggle ‎N338m out of Nigeria

‎‎The Lebanese nationals have been arrested for attempting to smuggle 890,000 dollars (N338 million) out of Nigeria. ‎

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC‎), disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday

‎The two men – Khali and Mohammed – were arrested by men of the Customs Area Command while trying to board a flight to Lebanon.

“Khali with the passport number LR152975 (Republic of Lebanon) was arrested with $670,000 dollars while Mohammed with Passport Number LR0356598 (Republic of Lebanon) had $220,000 dollars,” EFCC said in the statement.

‎The money recovered from the suspects, which they failed to declare to Customs, was deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Rivers State Branch, for safe keeping.

‎Principal Detective Superintendent, Macaulay Olayinka, who received the suspects on behalf of the Zonal Head, ‎assured that the Lebanese nationals would be charged to court after further investigations.
