Man who stole FRSC vehicle lands in police net‎

A man has landed in police net in Abuja for stealing a vehicle belonging to the Federal Road Safety Corps.

The man, Hamisu Tukur, 25, had made away with the car, which belonged to the FRSC headquarters, Abuja, from where ‎it was stationed at Sky Memorial Plaza, in the Wuse Zone 5 area of Abuja.

Tukur was arrested on Saturday by police operatives from Bwari Division during a stop and search operation, following a call from the FRSC headquarters.‎

Spokesman of the FCT Police Command, Anjuguri Manzah, who confirmed the development in a statement, said exhibits recovered from the suspect include the white Toyota Hilux-HQ-26RS and a single key.

Manzah said, “The Command on 5th September, 2020, arrested one Hamisu Tukur ‘m’ 25 years at the outskirts of Bwari, for stealing a vehicle belonging to the Federal Road Safety Corps headquarters stationed at Sky Memorial, Wuse Zone 5.”

He assured that the suspect will be arraigned after investigation.

The FCT Police Command urged residents to promptly report activities of criminals in the territory.
