A combined team of security operatives from the Police, Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corp, (NSCDC) on Monday conducted a show of force in Enugu state.

This came after the violent clash between members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and security operatives in Emene, Enugu State. The clash had left two DSS personnel dead, even as IPOB also claimed that 21 of its members were equally killed and 47 other arrested.

The security operatives drove round the capital city, in a bid to send a direct signal to members of the IPOB who have threatened to retaliate last Sunday’s attack and alleged killing of some of its members by security operatives.

Meanwhile, bus drivers in Enugu State on Monday suspended their services in protest against alleged killing of their members by security operatives during the clash with IPOB in Emene area of the state.
The drivers who literally grounded the state by preventing their members from carrying passengers, plying major roads in the state capital alleged that police and DSS killed two of their members during the incident.
The demanded that justice must be done to their killed members.

The chairman of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigerian (RTEAN), in the state, Comrade Chidiebere Aniagu, said that his members were not part of the protest.
