Following the intervention of the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the State Police Command has commenced the release of #ENDSARS protesters, arrested across the state.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr. Crusoe Osagie, said in Benin City, the state capital on Monday that “the release of the #ENDSARS protesters in the state, followed the intervention of Governor Obaseki.”
Osagie added: “Governor Obaseki held talks with the Edo State Police Commissioner, Mr Johnson Kokumo on the need to release the protesters and the release has commenced across the state.”
Recall that the governor, while lauding the Inspector General of Police for the dissolution of SARS, assured the release of arrested #ENDSARS protesters in the state and urged protesting youths to de-escalate confrontations.
