At least 20 persons have been abducted by suspected bandits in a community in Shiroro local government area of Niger State.

This came after yesterday’s attack in Kagara, Rafi local government headquarters by the gunmen.

Following the increasing spate of attacks within the Shiroro axis of the state, the people of the area now live in fear as government appears helpless with the situation.

Despite constant security patrol in the area, sources claimed that the armed bandits have continued to enjoy field days, abducting hapless individuals at will and making outrageous ransom demands.

Further checks revealed that the bandits invaded Adagbi village in Galkogo district in Shiroro Thursday morning.

The bandits who stormed the village on motorbikes, shot sporadically to scare people before abducting their targets who reports say are mostly women and children.

As at the time of this report, no reported death was recorded, but the village has literally become a ghost town as villagers have virtually deserted the area.
