Unknown gunmen on Monday abducted some students from a school in Kaduna State.
It was gathered that the gunmen killed a community vigilante member dead during the attack on Prince Academy, in Samba-Kasaya, a village around Buruku area in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna.
The number of kidnapped students was not confirmed but they are said to be JSS 3 students who are preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examinations.
It was learnt that some villagers were also abducted alongside the students.
Sources in the area said troops of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies are on the trail of the gunmen in a bid to rescue the victims and bringing the culprits to justice.
The attack came barely a week after the Kaduna State government announced that JSS 3 students in the state would resume classes on August 16 and 17.
The government had approved the resumption dates to allow the students prepare for the BECE which commenced on August 24.
